Cinema Sign

Bring your programme to life on Android TV. Promote films, show sessions, play moving artwork or dedicate a screen to advertising—then manage it from a phone, tablet or computer.

One programme. Several ways to show it.

A poster beside the auditorium, trailers in the foyer and a readable showtime board at the box office. Each player chooses its own presentation, even when it shares the cinema programme.

Make the artwork move.

Motion Poster plays a separate, muted portrait video. Show the artwork alone, add session or Coming Soon details, or put the information beside it. A missing motion video falls back to the film’s available still poster.

Supply a local MP4, a direct video URL or an optional Motion Poster asset in a CinemaShowtimes-JSON feed. Content must be supplied; it is not generated from a still image. Cut is the default. Android 14+ offers animated changes with an on-screen performance warning.

Expanded cinema connections

Connect the programme. Keep control of the media.

Connect your existing ticketing system, use an open feed or share a programme between players. The expanded source collection keeps connection setup, film media and each screen's presentation together in one application.

40selectable input types, including manual, shared and file sources
32ticketing provider names with readers, through 30 integrations
63catalogue entries with status, evidence and setup notes

Start with Manual, Advertise Only or Follow Cinema Sign Master. Advertise Only plays your image, URL or video campaigns without film/session data. Standard feeds include EBooking-Gateway, Veezi, both BLOAD formats and TaPOS / MEDIA2. Green Tested badges identify previously tested types; connection evidence is shown alongside each choice. The full provider list remains reachable on a phone or a short desktop window.

Native TaPOS XML

TaPOS / MEDIA2 joins BLOAD.

Import dated public performances, posters and the full public film catalogue directly from a MEDIA2 endpoint. Keep TaPOS's Coming Soon status, use unscheduled films or choose titles manually. BLOAD - TaPOS remains a separate text-export option.

Established connections

Keep using Veezi and VenueMaster.

Veezi offers regional endpoints plus Custom URL. VenueMaster has a configurable HTTP export address. Both have owner-confirmed successful prior tests. EBooking-Gateway also has prior connection evidence and imports films and sessions over the local network. The existing Veezi reader was retained during the expansion. CinemaShowtimes OpenAPI, BLOAD.TXT and master-player sharing remain available alongside the new readers.

A wider ticketing collection

Connect more cinema programmes.

Readers include RTS, Spektrix, Eventive, TicketingCiné, Fienta, Ciné Office and more. Provider setup notes explain the feed, credentials and mapping required. Check the status of your connection before committing to a rollout.

Visible import results

Check what the player received.

Test connections where offered, inspect Provider Data Log for received links and eligibility, and read Data Update Log for download work and errors. Confirm the cinema, venue timezone and publication rules against your ticketing system.

Your media choices survive

Improve artwork without losing control.

Choose posters and downloadable trailers from d-cine, or upload your own media. Suitable providers can optionally fill missing posters/trailers by title matching; the option is Off by default and needs a valid Media API key. Provider-supplied assets take precedence over automatic fallbacks. Local film/media overrides survive programme imports, and explicitly chosen trailers are retained through automatic scans. d-cine requires your own Media API key.

One programme, several screens

Share data; choose each layout.

Follow a Cinema Sign master for films, sessions and cached media. Keep a portrait poster screen, a trailer screen and a session board on different layouts, with advertising controlled on each player.

Evidence is visible: 10 ticketing readers have public-programme or vendor demo/sandbox passes; Veezi, VenueMaster and EBooking-Gateway have separate prior connection evidence. The catalogue distinguishes supported, beta, planned and deferred entries, with dated evidence for each.

40 input types does not mean 40 independently proven production APIs. Beta readers, including TaPOS MEDIA2, still need acceptance against your cinema's programme, timezone and publication/cancellation rules. Planned entries are not selectable.

Control the programme from where you are.

The player serves its own local control panel. Review Playback and Up Next, manage film media, schedule campaigns and diagnose imports without working through a TV remote.

Fill the artwork area your way

Best Fit shows the whole image with margins if necessary. Fill crops edges without distortion. Stretch to Fit fills exactly and is the default; it can change proportions.

Inspect the source and the download

Provider Data Log shows received film/media information and eligibility. Data Update Log explains the work performed, skipped downloads and failures.

Check the installation

Status warns when browser and player timezones differ. Screen Information reports output and rendering resolutions, refresh rate and any EDID data Android exposes.

Live content, on its own or in the rotation.

Insert URL adverts between film posters, run them as the whole advertising programme, or dedicate a screen to Live HTML Page. Custom Display Modules receive your cinema’s film/session data for a board designed around your venue.

URL adverts offer a 0–120 second preload head start, default 30, and fresh hidden loading in either playback order. Embedded content can prepare before the change. Slow or failed replacements keep the current item visible; first startup still needs an initial load. A website must remain reachable and compatible with the player.

Start with one screen. Grow with confidence.

Follow the illustrated manual from installation to daily checks. Test the real TV box, media, boot permissions and overnight operation before expanding across your cinema. The app is free; hardware, media services, vendor access and independently supplied display designs may have their own costs.
